Where should a tourist go in Sapa?

There are many beautiful spots in Sapa, therefore, where to go in Sapa is one of the most common questions for tourists, especially those who do not have much time to stay and discover all of Sapa. If you are having the same trouble, let’s see some of our suggestions below.

Fansipan Peak

Fansipan is the tourist-trap in Sapa. Most of its visitors are international tourists. For many people, conquering “the roof of Indochina” is like a dream or a desire that they want to make come true. Imagine that you are standing on a peak over 3143m high, you can see all of Sapa in the dim fog, breathe fresh air and enjoy getting over your limits. I am sure that the journey to Fansipan Peak will be one of the most interesting experiences in your lifetime.

Lao Chai – Ta Van

Walking is one of the best ways to explore Sapa. Visitors can go from village to village. Try walking on a suspension bridge, walking on rocky banks along small streams, strolling by the green or yellow terraced fields and experiencing daily activities of ethnic people. Besides, you can stay in a stilt house with local people with a Homestay service to know more about Tay Bac culture.

The best time to visit Lao Chai – Ta Van is in April and May (it is rice transplanting season) or in September (harvest season).

 Ham Rong Mountain

If you want to see Sapa from high above but you do not have enough time to climb Fansipan Peak, Ham Rong is an ideal place for you to choose. Along the trail to the top of the mountain you can get lost in thousands of colorful blooming flowers. Ham Rong is owned and taken care of by a company which is in charge of planting flowers, weeding and decorating the area.

The Stone Church

Located in the town center, the Stone Church, which is built in 1895, has unique architecture with French characteristics. It has a Gothic dome, glass windows depict Jesus’s sufferings and the ups and downs in Vietnamese history.  The Stone Church has become a symbol of the Foggy Town, Sapa.

The Stone Church is the favorite destination of many tourists because it not only is very easy to find and has symbols with special hidden meanings but also has a square, where many cultural exchange and trading activities are held.

Love Waterfall – Golden Stream

Love Waterfall and Golden Stream is a must-go site for couples travelling to Sapa. Love Waterfall is located in Tram Ton area, about 12km from Sapa Town and it is near a mountain pass named O Quy Ho. It is considered as the most fascinating waterfall in Sapa. From the main gate, visitors have to walk about 200m to reach the Golden Stream and keep walking 100m more along the stream to go to Love Waterfall. This is an ideal place for couples to express their love because the waterfall is also seen as the most romantic site in Sapa where you and your missing rib will not want to leave.

In addition to the stunning scenery, the touching love story between O Quy Ho, a woodcutter, and a fairy maiden makes Love Waterfall and Golden Stream more appealing.
